Terms and Conditions for Murphy’s Maid
1. INTRODUCTION
(a) These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Murphy’s Maid platform, which provides housekeeping services (“Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
(b) If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use the Services.
2. DEFINITIONS
- “Services” refers to the housemaid services provided by Murphy’s Maid on an hourly basis for a month.
- “Platform” refers to the website and/or mobile application where the Services are offered.
- “User” refers to any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Platform.
- “Pro Services” refers to any professional services offered by Murphy’s Maid’s housemaids.
3. USER ACCOUNT AND REGISTRATION
(a) To access the Services, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.
(b) You agree to notify Murphy’s Maid immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
4. USE OF SERVICES
(a) You may use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Platform in any way that violates any applicable laws or regulations.
- Exploit any of the Services in an unauthorized manner or for commercial purposes without consent.
(b) Murphy’s Maid may, at its discretion, restrict or suspend your access to the Services if you violate any of the terms outlined here.
5. FEES AND PAYMENT
(a) The use of the Services is subject to payment of the fees as outlined on the Platform.
(b) Payments for the Services must be made via the payment methods provided on the Platform. You agree to pay all applicable fees for the Services provided.
(c) Murphy’s Maid reserves the right to modify pricing at any time. Any price changes will be communicated to you through the Platform.
6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
(a) All rights, titles, and interests in, and to the Services, including all intellectual property rights arising out of the Services, are owned by or otherwise licensed to Murphy’s Maid. Subject to compliance with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable, and limited license to use the Services in accordance with these Terms and our written instructions issued from time to time. Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by Murphy’s Maid or its licensors.
(b) You may be requested to provide feedback or suggestions (“Feedback”) relating to the Services. You agree that Murphy’s Maid may freely use, copy, disclose, and exploit such Feedback without any obligation or compensation to you.
7. TERM AND TERMINATION
(a) These Terms shall remain in effect unless terminated in accordance with the terms hereunder.
(b) Murphy’s Maid may restrict, deactivate, or terminate your access to the Services, or any portion thereof, immediately and at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms, cease to be a user of the Services, or fail to meet eligibility criteria.
(c) You may terminate these Terms at any time by sending a notice to Murphy’s Maid at privacy@murphysmaid.com.
(d) Upon termination of these Terms:
- Your account will expire.
- The Services will “time-out.”
- These Terms will terminate, except for clauses intended to survive termination.
8. DISCLAIMERS AND WARRANTIES
(a) The Services are provided on an “as is” basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
(b) Murphy’s Maid makes no warranty that the Services will meet your expectations or requirements.
(c) Murphy’s Maid is not responsible for the performance of the Pro Services, including any damage caused by service professionals.
(d) Murphy’s Maid disclaims any liability for your interactions with other users or service providers outside of the Platform.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
(a) In no event will Murphy’s Maid be liable to you for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Services.
(b) Murphy’s Maid’s liability, to the maximum extent permitted by law, will be limited to the amount of commission Murphy’s Maid receives in respect of a particular booking on the Platform, and in no event shall it exceed INR 10,000 (Rupees Ten Thousand).
10. INDEMNITY
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Murphy’s Maid, its officers, employees, and affiliates harmless from any claim, loss, liability, damage, or expense arising out of your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or any infringement of third-party rights.
11. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
(a) These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India. The courts in New Delhi shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all matters arising under these Terms.
(b) Any disputes shall be resolved by arbitration in New Delhi, in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The tribunal will consist of one arbitrator appointed by Murphy’s Maid, and the arbitration proceedings will be conducted in English.

13. MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
(a) Changes to Terms: Murphy’s Maid reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting on the Platform. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.
(b) Modification of Services: Murphy’s Maid may, at any time, add, modify, or discontinue the Services, without liability to you.
(c) Severability: If any provision of these Terms is deemed unlawful or unenforceable, the remainder of the Terms will remain in effect.
(d) Assignment: You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without Murphy’s Maid’s prior written consent. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or third party at our discretion.
(e) Notices: All notices should be sent to legal@murphysmaid.com.
(f) Force Majeure: Murphy’s Maid will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing obligations due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, strikes, or compliance with government laws.
